Fixture for Jack 3.5 socket into AKG K612 headphones (modification for detachable cable)
thingiverse
Fixture for assembly Jack 3.5 socket inside of AKG K612 headphones left cup. One thing design to be placed instead of original non-detachable cable. Fixture is ready for installation socket Jack 3.5mm with small amount of glue. On pictures is presented AKG K612 and socket Jack 3.5 made by REAN/Neutrik. Hole for wires throught the fixture is elliptic (2.3x 3.3mm). Hole for Jack socket is diameter 8.2 (in place of thread). During assembly it was necessary to grind a little bit of plastic original cup below cable output to let new fixture take a place correctly. This thing might be suitable also for other AKG headphones: K701, K601 (cups seems to be designed in the same way). There is also some possibility, that it will be suitable also for K400, K401, K500, K501 (cable output and outside cover seems to be works in the same way). This thing is NOT suitable for K301 (verified) and K300, where cable output looks similar but outside cover is opened in different way and will make a collision with fixture.
