prusaprinters

This is an easy to print rotary sharpener that will fit any desk or drawing table. I am using this sharpener with my 2mm Caran d'Ache Fixpencils and my 2mm Kita-Boshi 2mm pencil.

My oldest mechanical pencils are over 30 years old. They never failed. I suppose the use of these mechanical pencils that last so long has a beneficial impact on the environment over traditional pencils.

2020-02-28 update:
The added file fixpencil_3mm_BIC_2mm_sharpner_ingress.stl is to be used with the Caran d'Ache Fixpencil 3mm or the BIC Criterium 2mm.

Print instructions

To complete the assembly you will need to build an abrasive ring by cutting a cone of revolution out of sand paper and glue it to the 3D printed ring. I would recommend to use water resistant glue as the sharpener is subject to regular water cleaning. A template is provided made available to download and print in order to facilitate the build process.

<oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tHTsQXF4DZk"></oembed>
