Fixpencil 22 + Adonit Jot custom iPad stylus End Cap
thingiverse
Transform your favorite mechanical pencil, the Fixpencil 22, into an exceptional iPad stylus by attaching Adonit Jot Touch tips. The metal Fixpencil works well with these tips, allowing you to leave the graphite lead inside while using the sensitive tip. However, be cautious as the Jot Touch tips can be fragile; thus, print a protective endcap for the stylus. To create your own accessories and spare parts, use the OpenSCAD file provided, which includes a model of the Fixpencil. Note that the lead sharpener part is not included in the model, but it could potentially be made in plastic. To make this stylus, purchase a Caren d'Ache Fixpencil 22 and order replacement Ball Tips from Adonit's Spare Parts store. Additionally, get some spare discs. Insert the ball tip into the pencil like a graphite stick, then press it into the plastic disc. This stylus will cost around $50 but provides both an excellent iPad stylus and a high-quality art pencil. Be aware that slicing settings on a Makerbot Replicator 2 may take a while; thus, choose a 'medium' profile with a layer height of 0.15 for faster slicing and printing.
