Fixed Wing UAV
thingiverse
This is a work in progress UAV with a wingspan of approximately 54 inches. It's designed to utilize 1/2 inch square tubing for the spars, whether that's wood or aluminum. Ribs should be spaced three inches apart and two point five inches at the wingtips. This model is intended for monokote covering and serves as a VTOL platform similar to Google's Wing project. However, it can still function as a conventional airplane. The design features a symmetrical airfoil, but if you prefer, I can modify it to semi-symmetrical. Important Note: Airfoil ribs may need to be halved in order to fit most printers' specifications. A revised version for a smaller 38-inch wingspan is currently in development! Updates: 4-6-16 - Vertical stabilizers were added (four pieces that serve as both landing struts and optional elevons). These can also be converted into rudders if desired, but are not intended to function as such.
