Fixed wing control surface trim lock
thingiverse
Tool to secure your control surfaces, allowing mechanical trim adjustments without needing extra tools or redoing work. It's especially useful for elevon controlled wings. To use: Print it in a stiff material like ABS. Use an M3 nut and bolt for locking. Attach double-sided tape to the flat side. This tool is perfect for trimming after flying sessions, so you can be ready for next time. - Trim your model to the desired speed, as some models perform well at high speeds but require extra input at low speeds or vice versa. - With your model powered up and no stabilization enabled, attach the trim tool to the model as shown and tighten the bolt to lock the surface in place. - Remove the control rod, so the control surface is now locked by the tool alone. - Adjust the trims until they're at zero and then adjust the rods' length until they easily clip into the control horn. - Remove the trim tool. That's it! You're ready for happy flying!
