Fixed Harpoon, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 2-21.82.1 is Likely a Hot Springs Site Dating to 100-300 CE In 1960, Japanese Excavations Uncovered the Site's Rich History, Described in Workman's (1966) Arctic Anthropology Publication and Maschner's (2004) AJA Article. The Hot Springs Village is a Massive Settlement Located on Port Moller's Shore, Facing the Southern Bering Sea on Alaska's Peninsula. Over 100 Years of Excavations by Multiple Teams have Revealed its Ancient Occupations, Spanning from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and Again from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs Artifacts are a Direct Result of Research Funded by NSF Grants 0137756, 1204020, 1139266, and 1321411. H. Maschner Led the Investigation as Principal Investigator. The Original Digitization Work was Conducted at Idaho State University's IVL Lab, with Subsequent Processing Completed at Global Digital Heritage.
