Fitting to mount a PTFE tube to filament box

To lower drag force on extruder and support of my printer, I´m using a PTFE tube between filament box and the extruder. Quality of print is increased due to low forces.

Parts are printed without support and are made out of PETG. Tightness of filament box is sufficient without an additional sealing.

The clearence between outer and inner thread is quite tight to avoid unwanted rotating of the nut. To assemble the nut to the body, I recommend to use two wrench (size 13mm). After assembling first time, nut could be rotated by hand.

The bore for the inner diameter is after printing smaller than 4mm to avoid a gap between the tube and the fitting. I recommend to calibrate the inner bore with a drill Ø4mm. Mount the cap nut without bending the clamps and rotate the fitting over the drill. To avoid damaging the clamps or to get a too big bore, I recommend to clamp the drill in a vice and to calibrate the fitting manuel.

For shown support ring where end of tube is fixed, follow the link: Support ring to fix and plug PTFE tube if filament (Ø1,75mm) is not in use von H3dSprint | Kostenloses STL-Modell herunterladen | Printables.com
