Fitbit Ionic :: Sport band :: Upper arm extension for cycling
thingiverse
I recently acquired a Fitbit Ionic sports smartwatch. My watch, an Adidas edition, came with two arm bands: a short one and a long one. To utilize this accessory effectively, you need both pairs due to the two thorn closures required, as depicted in the images. It appears that the Ionic uses a camera-like sensor to monitor tiny skin veins for heart rate. However, when cycling, my hand becomes quite shaky, which I believe may lead to inaccurate results. Other heart rate sensors are typically positioned on the upper arm. This band extension secures the watch to my upper arm using one part of the unused watchband. The files became very large because I cloned the original sports band design as closely as possible. All tiny holes are round on one side and hexagonal on the other, ensuring a perfect fit into the original thorn closures. Update: Following approximately 24 kilometers of testing, my Fitbit Ionic now functions flawlessly! The Ninjaflex is remarkably soft, making me unaware of the extension's presence. Refer to the "same route twice.jpg" picture in the comments for a heart rate comparison. The watch performs significantly better when positioned on the upper half of my biceps.
