Fitbit Charge HR Strap Grip Replacement
thingiverse
The original strap features a retainer that secures the excess end from the outside, but this replacement engages the leftover belt with two pivots from inside the belt instead of one. The piece is slightly curved, requiring support as the pivots diverge from each other. Edges in contact with skin have been chamfered, although not sufficiently to avoid discomfort. To assemble, the buckle must be removed. To cover the pivots, a permanent black marker was used, acknowledging that a blank design also looked appealing. Measurements allow the belt to pass through, but more margin will be added in future versions. A thinner model with one pivot is being tested, built on the original's foundation. A previous version was delicate and prone to broken pivots. The new strap can be printed horizontally with reduced support. Key print settings include 0.1 resolution, 100% infill, and a printer setting of Anet A8. Important notes for printing: the piece is curved and must be printed upright with support. White PLA plastic was used. After printing, edges in contact with skin will need to be softened. The black part has been painted with a permanent marker. This design was created using Scketchup and processed through Cura, requiring 30 minutes of print time.
