After three years of faithful service, my Fiskars StaySharp Max Reel Mower's upper flap was starting to come loose. The issue lay in its design - the lock mechanism consists of plastic nubs that inevitably wear down over time. As these nubs degrade, the flap becomes increasingly prone to dropping into the "front discharge" position whenever it hits a bump.
