My sister requested I create a sheath for her Fiskars micro-tip scissors so they wouldn't puncture whatever bag she carries them in. Initially, I attempted a simplified remix of TabLeft's sheath from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1990412), but discovered that the tab on the end required an excessive amount of force to move out of the way for inserting the blades, and the tips dug into the sheath until the handles cleared the tab at the back. As a non-engineer with no design training, I devised a very unattractive, inefficient, and likely not very durable design utilizing a hinged tab allowing easy insertion of the blades. I'm mostly sharing this as an example of what not to do in hopes someone else will come up with a better idea. I appreciate rohingosling's hinge design from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2187167), which I lack the skill and knowledge to replicate. The original, simpler design is included as an STL file; this version holds the scissors more securely once you unlock the handles after inserting the guard.
