Fiskars detail knife magnetic tip protector
prusaprinters
I recently bought Fiskars detail knife, but the protector it came with can fell off and wear down with time. I decided to use my leftover magnets from previous project. The magnets hold the case closed and holds the tip in place as well. Easy to open and close.Bill of materialsItemAmount6x3mm magnet4 pcs1,75 mm diameter filamentEnoughTHE PICTURES ARE FROM AN OLDER REVISION!Newer version has the second magnet closer to middle to grab the tip more!New revisionPrinting & installationCan be printed without supports. I recommend 0,15mm layer height due to the hinge!MagnetsThe magnets don't require glue and have to be pushed down to the case with a small amout of force. They stay in place due to the tight fit and friction.MAKE SURE YOUR MAGNETS ARE ORIENTED CORRECTLY!HingeCut a small piece of filament of your choice. Push it down the hinge hole. If it is too tight, you might need to drill the hole to be a little bit bigger. The hole is 2mm in diameter, but due to circle being hard to print (overhang), the fit should be relatively tight depending on your printer tolerances.
