Fishing Waste Line Collector

Fishing Waste Line Collector

thingiverse

This is a "must have" for anyone who fishes, as nothing beats the frustration of seeing discarded fishing line while out on the water or lying at the bottom of your boat. Discarded line can also pose a significant threat to wildlife. To combat this issue, several waste line collectors can be easily printed to contain any waste line you may have (or find) while fishing. The larger version uses two 6/32"x1/8" set screws to secure the barrel within the body, while the smaller one simply snaps together - take care as the tabs on this model are fragile. Both versions employ a piece of hook from sticky back Velcro to grab onto the line. A split ring or clip can be inserted into the top during printing. To utilize these collectors, simply hold the line against the hole and then spin the barrel to wind in the waste line. This method works seamlessly for both long and short pieces of discarded line. When full, remove the barrel from the body and cut along the groove of the barrel to release the old line - a simple process. Update: On September 28th, 2019, an updated version of the WLC2 Barrel (WLC2 Barrel 2019.STL) was released with thicker tabs that are rotated for optimal use. These modifications ensure the tabs do not obstruct the opening. Please note that this update has not been tested or printed by me, as my original model remains functional. All previous versions of the WLC2 Barrel have been deleted from circulation. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: MakerGear * Printer Model: M2 * Rafts: No * Supports: Yes
