Fishing Rod Protector for Backpacking

Fishing Rod Protector for Backpacking

This project was to keep my telescoping fishing pole (Eagle Claw Pack-It) more secure/safe while backpacking. It is designed to be combined with the "Booms Fishing V02 Waist Rod Holder Belt" (Amazon link below, $11.99 when I bought it). Combined, these two things will keep the fishing pole closed and line rings/hook protected, and also makes it easily attachable to backpack straps. It also worked great when I attached it to the belt (pictured) on my "UL Tackle Box" (aka, a fanny/hip pack I use for fishing while backpacking). Link to belt/pack holder on Amazon = https://a.co/d/6Ip1zLg Link to fishing rod/reel on Amazon = https://a.co/d/fPSz5nk Print Settings: * Filament = PLA (could use stronger like PETG or ABS) * Infill = 40% (for strength, could pry go less) * Walls = 4 (1.6 mm) (for strength, could pry go less) * Supports: Touching buildplate (10% infill and 0.2 mm z distance) and ONLY required under the two "belt loops," see attached "Support Block Position" image for how I set it up in CURA. This should work for most telescoping rods, may need to scale it up but would be easy to do in Cura, Blender, etc. I added in some fun text/image because... why not? I made this in BLENDER because that's what I know. ;-)
