Fishing pole holder insert for Intex raft bimini
thingiverse
I design custom inserts to fit snugly onto fishing pole holders on my Intex Excursion 5, engineered specifically to support my bimini setup. The bimini itself demands four of these inserts, and I produced them using PETG material - just make sure your printer is capable of producing durable, weather-resistant components, as they bear the bulk of the load. The canopy fabric is a high-quality 60-inch, 1.9-ounce silicone-coated ripstop nylon, measuring approximately 10 feet in length. It serves as an excellent sunshade, offering superior protection from the elements. However, if you plan to use it during rainy conditions, consider adding an extra foot or two for enhanced coverage. The tent poles are made of fiberglass, salvaged from an old damaged tent. Each pole measures 3.45 meters in length and features a diameter of 7.8 millimeters. The connectors that join the pole segments have a diameter of 9.6 millimeters. To secure the canopy fabric, I utilized approximately 30 feet of paracord, eight carabiners, and a small amount of nylon webbing for sewing loops onto the canopy. The paracord is tied to the canopy using a bowline knot and secured to the carabiner with a taut-line hitch. When packed away, the entire setup fits neatly into a compact drawstring bag that's smaller than most tents, weighing in at just a couple of pounds. This convenient design allows for easy deployment while on the water without causing too much inconvenience.
