Bone Fishing Lure from Hot Springs Village in Port Moller, Alaska, identified as CAT# HHO1-80.5 (HHO-5), is linked to Okada excavations in House 1. The site's name "Hot Springs" indicates its presence during the time period of 1300-1400 CE. All items with a HHO designation originate from the 1972 excavation at Highland House, which is a distinct stratigraphic unit separate from the rest of the site. The Hot Springs site is a substantial village situated on the shoreline of Port Moller, on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea. Excavations were conducted by various teams over the past century. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are presented as a result of research carried out under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner served as the Principal Investigator for this project. The initial digitizing work was completed at the IVL at Idaho State University, while subsequent processing took place at Global Digital Heritage.
