Fishermans Memorial - Partial
cults3d
We were in Cape May, NJ on vacation driving around looking for things to scan with 123D Catch, my new favorite pastime - creating DIY souvenirs. While exploring, we stumbled upon a haunting 12 foot tall memorial overlooking the harbor, dedicated to local fishermen lost at sea. Unfortunately, it was dark outside and stormy weather set in, causing us to struggle getting good pictures. However, I managed to persuade 123D Catch to stitch together two subsets of my photos, resulting in two partial scans. Unfortunately, not all of them were captured at once. It was our last day in Cape May, so we couldn't return once the storm passed. This statue would be an ideal candidate for scanning due to its central location within a circular path, making it easy to walk around and take pictures from multiple angles. If you're ever near Cape May, I recommend giving it a try on a sunny day! I've included a zip file containing the two raw scans, allowing anyone who's interested to manually combine them into a single model.
