Fisher and Paykel BI602X Wall Oven Soft Touch Button Replacement

Our Fisher and Paykel BI602X Wall Oven developed an issue with the Soft Touch Buttons, causing the button edges to crumble. It was only a matter of time before the buttons would stop functioning entirely, and they were becoming increasingly unsightly. The replacement parts we needed were Part Number 1616982, but unfortunately, they had been marked as NLA (No Longer Available). To solve this problem, I designed and printed my own replacement buttons. At just 2 cents each, this was a quick and cost-effective solution that required me to print 18 of them. The prints were done using a flexible material called PLAFlex, which is similar to TPU filament but slightly firmer. It did an excellent job of mimicking the original buttons' functionality while offering a more pleasing shape. For those who may be interested in replicating this solution, I've included detailed drawings that show how my 3D printed buttons match the original buttons functionally, but with a more aesthetically pleasing design. I hope you find the print file useful for your own projects.
