Fish Tank Scraper / Syphon

Fish Tank Scraper / Syphon

I have a saltwater tank with a bare glass bottom, no sand or gravel in sight. Fish waste was getting stuck to the bottom, causing me a big headache. I used to dislodge it with a scraper, but that would stir up a huge cloud of tiny particulates, making a mess of my water column. What I needed was a way to dislodge it and siphon out the particulates at the same time - and now I have just that solution. It fits onto tubing with 5/8 OD and 1/2 ID, which is why I order part number PVC12-58ANA from Google. It's readily available, so that's a big plus. When printing these parts, make sure to print them vertically in the orientation shown in my picture - you'll see they're yellow printed parts. No support is needed, thankfully. Sometimes the first layer of a print will flare out a bit if your nozzle is too close to the bed, but don't worry about that just yet - it's an easy fix. Just grind off the excess material and you'll be good to go.
