This system is designed to effectively remove physical media from aquarium water, requiring the purchase of a pump, two suction cups, and quilt batting. Adapters made to hook into a vinyl tube are specifically tailored for an Aquatop pump. To assemble this system, follow these steps: 1. Attach the print labeled intake body to a length of vinyl tubing. 2. Cut a square of quilt batting approximately 4 inches by 4 inches in size. 3. Fold the quilt batting in half twice to create a compact shape. 4. Carefully cut a hole in the center of the quilt batting, about the size of a pencil. 5. Insert the quilt batting over the center post of the intake body and tuck any excess material inside. 6. Secure the intake lid with a cover nut, ensuring all quilt batting is tucked away. 7. Install a suction cup at the back of the intake body. 8. Attach the intake adapter to the other end of the tube and connect it to the pump's intake. 9. Install the outlet body on another length of tube. 10. Fasten the outlet lid with two cover nuts, tightening them moderately. 11. Connect the other end of the tube to the pump's outlet using an adapter if necessary. 12. (Optional) While this system is designed for submerged use, you can utilize extra-long vinyl tubing and wrap excess tubing around a UV light to help kill bacteria in the water, promoting faster clearing. However, be cautious not to expose filter media to UV radiation, as it will harm beneficial bacteria as well. Additionally, avoid using this method on unestablished tanks due to similar risks.
