Fish Tail Point Variation. XCB-105-3106. 400 BCE-100 CE\nXCB-105 Adamagan, a vast Aleut settlement on Morzhovoi Bay's western edge in the Alaska Peninsula, is a thriving hub of diverse occupations. At its peak from 400 BCE to 100 CE, it was the Arctic's largest village, home to approximately 1,000 people. The site also reveals limited occupation phases dated 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE.\nExcavations of Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts were made possible by grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the research as Principal Investigator. The artifacts were captured using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i scanner. Further processing was done in Geomagic or Polyworks software, with 2-8 images used to create texture in Geomagic Wrap. The initial digitization took place at the Iditarod University's Institute of Vocational Learning, while subsequent analysis and publication were completed by Global Digital Heritage.
