Human: Fish hook shank, XFP-031, Sanak Island, Alaska. XFP-031-8 XFP-031 is a cluster of house depressions situated on the north shore of Sanak Island, Alaska. Multiple radiocarbon dates pinpoint its existence from 350 BCE to 100 BCE, placing it firmly in the Adamagan Phase of the Alaska Peninsula. These artifacts were meticulously scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Further processing was carried out in Geomagic or Polyworks. A total of 4-8 high-quality photos were utilized for texture in Geomagic Wrap. The Sanak Island artifacts showcase the outstanding results of research conducted under grants NSF 0326584, NSF 0508101, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator. Initial digitizing work was executed at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage. Fieldwork and analysis were conducted with permission and collaboration from the Pauloff Harbor Tribe and the Sanak Corporation.
