Fish Food Funnel
thingiverse
We fixed a frustrating issue with our automated fish food feeder, which kept spilling food outside the tank because it's an affordable 10-gallon tank and the feeding hole in the lid is relatively small and/or not designed for the feeder we're using.\nFor a while, we managed with a piece of plastic in there, but my wife cleverly suggested we 3D print a funnel!\nAfter refining our design over a couple of iterations, we landed on this fantastic design.\nI printed the main part of the funnel at 100% infill to make it solid and durable, and the block that attaches to it at 10% infill to save on materials and keep costs down.\nTo facilitate easier completion of the two-part print, I sliced the model in half using netfabb free software.\nThe design fits perfectly into the feeding hole of our below aquarium hood:http://www.petsmart.com/fish/lighting-hoods/all-glass-aquarium-incandescent-hood-zid36-5063883/cat-36-catid-300015\nOur feeder is this one:http://www.petsmart.com/food-care/automatic-feeders/national-geographic-trade-aqua-auto-fish-feeder-zid36-5230306/cat-36-catid-300037\nPrint Settings\nPrinter Brand: Robo 3D\nPrinter: R1 ABS + PLA Model\nRafts: No\nSupports: Yes\nResolution: 0.3mm\nInfill: 100%/10%\nPost-Printing\nI glued the pieces together using superglue, and I'm also considering coating it with resin to prevent buildup of food over time.\nHow I Designed This\nI created this design in Sketchup and then sliced it in half using netfabb free.
