Fischertechnik Force Closure

Fischertechnik Force Closure

thingiverse

I love Fischertechnik, but something has bothered me since I started playing with it back in the 1980s. You can't lock the cogwheels onto the metal axis securely enough to build a transmission because the cogwheels always slip when the torsion force becomes too great. Now that I have the ability to print Fischertechnik parts myself, I designed a small tube that fits between two cogwheels like shown in the pictures. Both cogwheels are locked together, no matter how tightly or loosely you fasten the locknut on them. Make sure when assembling this design, you place the screw part of the cogwheel mounting parts towards the force closure on both sides, just as shown in the image with the exploded parts!
