First Y-axis Driving Test using by linear stepping motor.
thingiverse
I conducted a Y-axis movement test, revealing subpar results; maximum speed reached 55 mm/sec, with linear stepping motor stalling beyond this point. The non-straight linear thread negatively impacted z-direction accuracy, causing bed plate waviness during movement. Surprisingly, I was unaware of the potential for a non-straight linear thread. Please view the linked video (http://youtu.be/YwmH_hrgCt4) for demonstration. The y-end idler has been modified based on the original design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:104525) to enhance fitment.
