First Order forces seized control of the vessel, making substantial alterations to its design. They replaced the original undercarriage support system with a new one, installed on both sides of the ship. Additionally, eight ventral missile launchers were added, evenly distributed across the bottom of the ship, four on each side. The crew also fitted the ship with jamming sensors, warning them of potential aerial threats from above.
