First Layer Zig-Zag Calibration

First Layer Zig-Zag Calibration

thingiverse

This is a simple zig-zag pattern for visual calibration of the first layer. It serves the same purpose as Prusa's V2_Calibration.gcode, which can be found in their documentation. [Watch Prusa's Video Tutorial](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_LqgABOICQ) to learn more. This calibration tool includes multiple zig-zags for continuous tuning until you're satisfied with the results. The vertical path allows for better visualization when approaching the printer from a single angle, as I do. The model's lines are 0.4mm wide and 0.2mm high, so make sure to adjust your slicer settings accordingly to detect them correctly. I use Slic3rPE, but other slicers can replicate these settings. Some settings are included for caution, but I recommend keeping them as specified: * Enable "detect thin walls" to prevent glitches. * Set the first and subsequent layers to 0.2mm layer height for proper slicing. * Verify layer width and set all to 0.4mm. * For Vertical shells, set Perimeter to 1. * Disable skirt printing since it's not needed. To accurately print this file, use lower speeds as your goal is to inspect the layer and ensure correct extrusion.
