First Layer Level Test Lines

First Layer Level Test Lines

thingiverse

I sought a minimalist design boasting minimal retractions, ensuring smooth lines that would clearly illustrate width variations and allow effortless adjustments to the first layer's height. A single-layer skirt or brim, positioned mere millimeters away, facilitated a swift test. Duplicating this design four times efficiently covered half of my 3D printer bed. I constructed it to be approximately 18mm in length by 100mm wide, making it easy to extend or shorten as needed. The STL file was created at 1mm thickness but scaled down to print only one line. This allows for adjustments according to different layer heights. The primary line is 1mm in width, thus scaling x and y axes by 50% when using a 0.4mm nozzle would result in a continuous line. I was testing my 0.8mm nozzle at the time.
