The Old Town Historic District is a remarkably preserved rural crossroads settlement situated along the historic Old Post Road. It holds profound historical significance as the earliest town center within the old town of Attleborough, boasting architectural importance through its valuable examples of domestic, religious, and public architecture. Established circa 1694, the time of Attleborough's incorporation, Old Town is home to several significant buildings from the early history of the town, including: the First Congregational Church, constructed in 1827 as the third residence for a congregation established in 1710; the Town Powder House, built in 1768.
