Firefly Hat Housing

This is my Science and Engineering fair project's case design. I built biomimetic firefly robots that users can wear on their heads. The case has slots for a nylon strap to be threaded through, just like a bike helmet. It features a main piece and lid to hold the robot securely in place. Users can access the robot whenever they need it by opening the case. Currently, I'm using a rubber band as the primary method of closure - you'll see the groove on top and bottom that guides it into place. However, I also included a cut out for a screw and nut to make closing the lid more secure. To ensure a tight seal, there are guiding bump outs on the main piece and a wide peg on the lid. A slot is also provided for an antenna to minimize radio interference caused by excessive movement. This design is meant to be printed in clear PLA so that light from LEDs inside can diffuse through it, providing a bright visual effect.
