Firefly Board game Ships (extras)

A new friend revived my passion for the Firefly series & movie. (Thanks JediKep!) He introduced me to a Firefly community and a board game that's captured my attention. Some ships in the game aren't represented by models, so I've created these 4 models and a peg for them using pictures from the game. These designs are tailored for the game and each one is just 2 inches long (the same size as the board game pieces). You can resize and print them at any size you prefer, but keep in mind that many details are exaggerated to ensure they show up clearly on small models. I recently discovered a fan-film short movie "The Verse" made with love & quality equal to the series! I met the director online and will create his ship "The Overland" next. Shooting for a 6 inch desktop model, though it's likely to be larger than usual. There are at least 5 or 6 more ships missing from the game that I might tackle as well. UPDATE: The 6 inch Overland is complete. Check it out here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2896920). UPDATE: The Overland reduction is complete, along with a 2 inch board game piece that's been added. I included the single piece for viewing purposes, but highly recommend printing the split model and joining the halves afterwards - it prints much better when split. UPDATE: Thanks to JediKep for the awesome stat cards that go along with each ship! (sandfly coming soon) UPDATE(12/14/18): Just in time for Christmas, I've added The Sandfly from the Firefly fan film "Bellflower". As promised, another 2in model for the board game. Enlarge if you wish, but the details dimensions were exaggerated for the 2in size. UPDATE(12/28/18): Another board game ship - The Sampan. I think the Kepler will be next. (11:30pm): Just updated the Sampan with more details. Now it's complete. UPDATE(1/20/19): Thanks so much to Sean Kennedy (the original artist for many of the ships we love) for the decimated model of the original ship Monte flew. I only had to refine and augment the details for this 2in model. What a fine addition to the collection! We didn't have a ship name for this one, so we're calling it "Monty's Ship, the Beaumonde Belle". UPDATE(2/11/19): The Kepler joins the ranks. JediKep's namesake is flying the verse. 3 versions are attached: 1. The whole ship, mostly for viewing. 2. The split model - good for printing. 3. The split model with over-temp control, to keep the nose from melting - best for printing. I'll post a picture in the comments of what happens without temperature controls. UPDATE(2/16/19): Tested "Shapeways" printing service. Was curious how a ship would look printed with DMLS (metal) and SLA (resin). I'm not disappointed. See the photos with the Gold Sandfly and Glowing Sandfly. The metal one is very heavy - pleasing to hold, and the Resin one transmits light nicely. I think I'll get more clear SLA ships printed and paint them, then remove the paint from windows and engine outlets and lights, then only those details will glow. UPDATE(7/27/19): The Shu-Fu joins the fleet as the 10th ship in this collection. There are two versions this time; 1. Low Profile (LP) where the body panels are more accurate to the ship pictures. 2. High Profile (HP) where the body panels stick out more to accentuate the details. And the unsplit versions, mostly for looking at, but printable also. UPDATE(3/17/20): With the Corona Virus limiting travel... I found some free time to build another. The "Alliance Fast Attach Ship" (AFAS) joins the fleet. You'll recognize this ship as the Shinigami war bird in the fan-film "The Verse". A request was made for a smaller model, since this is a small ship, comparatively. So, I've made a 1.5 inch and 2 inch version. Both are split for better printing. If you print the small 1.5, I've also included a smaller ship-peg for it. I printed this one with my 0.25 nozzel and 0.1 layer.
