FireFlo v3
thingiverse
This is an update of the FireFlo v2 and a remix of the DragonFli frame with i on the top. I also include an alternative frame for the Blade NanoQX that's perfect for FPV. Some cool things to watch: Check out this video from my very first flight! https://youtu.be/a4SYjWPVkdE Here are some general details: It consists of a top plate and a lower deck connected by shock absorbers, making it easy to remove the flight control plus camera and reducing motor vibrations. This version has higher stiffness than v2. There are different options for attaching lipos - you can attach them on the top deck or under the lower deck. Antenna protection is built-in with predrilled holes. You've got more free space to add your own vtx and cam, plus room for different flight controls from the NanoQX original board to SciSky. And because it's made of two parts, you can now mix and match colors. Here are some detailed details: It fits both the original NQX Cam or the Spektrum Micro Cam, as well as self-made cams. It works with 7mm and 8.5mm motors. You can bend the camera holder up to 20° by heating it up a bit, but be careful not to break it. The frame is around ~110 mm diagonal (m2m) and about 9 x 9 cm in length and width. The weight of the frame is around ~7.3g depending on the material used. You'll need three shock absorbers for this setup - you can find them here: http://r.ebay.com/Wfjzam Some example setups that will fit and have been tested: Shock Absorbers: * 50g camera gimbal damper rubber anti-vibration shock absorber (http://r.ebay.com/Wfjzam) Motormounts: You can find motor holders for this frame in the "CopterCustoms"-Group. (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1133331) Antenna Protection: Just use two cable ties and put them in the provided holes in the lower deck. Motors 7mm: CL-0720-12, CL-0720-14 from micro-motor-warehouse.com or standard Hubsan x4 H107L. Motors 8.5mm: * CL-0820-15 or CL-0820-17 Dark Edition from micro-motor-warehouse.com. Standard Hubsan x4 H107D, H107C Flight Control: (to get a proper fit, you should remove the motor plugs and solder the motors directly to the board): * NanoQx Board (MOSFETs need to be replaced when using 8.5mm motors) NanoQx FPV Board MicroMWC (MOSFETs need to be replaced when using 8.5mm motors) SciSky Cam and vTx: * NanoQx FPV Cam Spektrum Ultra Micro FPV CAM SPMVA1100 You can also make your own like this: http://flitetest.com/articles/diy-micro-5-8ghz-fpv (but be careful not to overcomplicate it - you might end up with something more like a bumblebee than a firefly).
