The Firebird in Russian mythology is the ultimate symbol of rebirth and regeneration. In Western cultures, it mirrors the Phoenix bird's cycle of fiery demise and renewal. The quest for the Firebird drives many a fairy tale hero, who must overcome formidable obstacles to claim their prize. Meanwhile, "The Firebird" is a one-act ballet composed by Igor Stravinsky, first performed at Paris' Grand Opera on June 25, 1910. Crafted with precision and care, this sculpture stands 312 mm tall. Its sturdy base supports three distinct components: a female form, a male figure, and a foundation that keeps everything in balance. To add extra stability, two steel wire pins with a diameter of 1 mm are inserted into the joint of the male and female figures, while a curved pin made from steel wire with a diameter of 2 mm is positioned within the joint of the male figure and stand. This remarkable sculpture was created using a 3D printer known as Lad-1.0. The print settings included a layer thickness of 100 microns, utilizing ABS uncolored material from #DASplast. Post-processing involved grinding and chemical polishing with ethyl acetate to achieve a flawless finish. Finally, acrylic enamel was applied for a vibrant, long-lasting color.
