Fire Tablet Wire Shelf Mount with F360 file
thingiverse
I reside in a cozy Studio Apt where space is always at a premium. I often find myself knocking over my Kindle while reaching for the alarm clock, especially when listening to Audible books to help me drift off to sleep. To solve this problem, I've been tinkering with my 3D printer, and let's see if we can come up with a solution that works. After several attempts, I'm pleased to share version 6 of this design, which has finally met my expectations despite the first five iterations being failures. This particular model was printed using a .8 mm nozzle and took approximately three hours to complete. It serves its purpose admirably but feels restrictive in its current form. If you're interested in repurposing it for another project, I've included the Fusion 360 file for your convenience. This design prints as three separate pieces, which is necessary given the limited space available. The only support required is a small bracket that connects the two mounting pieces to the retaining piece. To assemble it, simply place the Kindle in its designated area and clip it onto the wire shelf – voilà! I'm grateful for this project as it has been an excellent learning experience for me. Note: This design has been optimized for my Kindle Fire with a protective flip case, which I received around Christmas 2016.
