Fire Brick Support Jig
thingiverse
Constructing an outdoor fireplace requires a sturdy base for the row of firebrick beneath the mantel. To achieve this, I created a ball-and-socket jig that securely attaches to a photography tripod's mono-pod. The jig's ball end screws onto the swivel head's 1/8-inch thread with ease. In addition, two strips of 5mm "bar" were printed and glued to the brick, ensuring a uniform grout thickness and leveling the bottom of all bricks for a professional finish.
