This project is designed to safeguard your home and loved ones from fires sparked by a 3D printer, specifically the Ender 3 Pro in my case. The alarm is strategically placed on top to rapidly detect smoke as soon as possible. I considered adding a small dish-style smoke collector near the sensor to further enhance its effectiveness; if there's sufficient interest, I might create it. There are various methods to utilize this fire alarm system to shut down your printer safely. Personally, I connected the buzzer directly to the GND on my alarm and then to an SR-Latch circuit that controls a MOS switch, which in turn shuts off the 24V power supply to the main board, effectively turning off the entire printer while still preserving the print. The buzzer will continue to sound an alert until the smoke clears. Note: Some may worry about the Y-axis moving at high speeds potentially colliding with the alarm; however, I'm confident that existing features on my printer will prevent such incidents, such as my extruder knob or the hand tool holder on the top corner. If needed, you can modify this holder to be taller and resolve the issue. If there are ten or more requests for this modification, I'll create it for everyone's benefit.
