The mounting clips included with this light fail to securely fasten the light to the tank, causing concern as the light nearly falls into the tank. This adapter slips over the factory clip and hooks below the trim on the outside of the tank, ensuring the light stays in place. The retention clip prevents it from lifting vertically, which could result in the light falling back into the water! Dimensioned specifically for an Aqueon 40G tank.
