Finn's Golden Sword (Sturdy)
cults3d
This is my version of Finn's Golden Sword that I made to be more sturdy than others I have seen. The entire sword can be reinforced with three wooden rods you can typically buy at craft stores. The idea was that the rods would break before the printed parts, which I found to be cheaper and easier to replace. You will need: 2 - ~4mm (5/32') wood rods 1 - ~8mm (3/8') wood rod Each rod should be longer than 27' roughly the length of the sword. The holes for the wooden rods are 0.1mm larger than needed, use tape to fine tune how tight they fit. The hilt has two options, printed whole or in two parts. I printed the hilt in two parts and held the two together with large heat shrink tubing. You can wrap the hilt with cloth or glue the two together. Assemble as desired. I did not use any glue to put mine together and was sturdy enough to swing and feels strong enough to not worry about it breaking easily.
