Revamp your Hot Wheels Finish Gate using a two-lane pinewood derby setup. The instructions advise printing the raft and exterior support for parts like the outer frame, inner flag, and hit pieces. However, the raft could probably be omitted for the latter two elements, as extra support was needed; an additional 1/16" was added to improve print quality. An update reveals that after swapping STL files, the design ran smoothly in about 160 races. There were three ties requiring video review, but the flag dropped correctly each time. The revised files are titled FinishGate2. Additionally, checkered flag files can be merged on a dual extruder setup, although printing issues prevented successful results for this user. A SketchUp file is provided for those interested in customizing further.
