Video: https://youtu.be/p2JiNKUGuKU My friend who had a stroke has been recovering slowly over the last two years, but his left body remains paralyzed. Despite being able to move his legs and take care of himself, he is struggling to open his palm due to muscle weakness. This kit is designed to help him overcome this challenge by providing extra strength to keep his palm open, allowing him to learn how to move the muscles in his fingers. The idea for this kit was inspired by the Aquahand design created by elerz92 on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:944296). I want to thank her for her beautiful and innovative design that has been a huge help to me. To make printing easier, I have designed this kit with a larger print bed size in mind, specifically for the Makerbot Replicator 2. Instead of using springs, which can be tricky to get right, this design utilizes Silicone O-Rings as tensioners. If you need more tension on each finger, simply hook an additional o-ring to another hook and extend its length. When selecting an o-ring, please choose a good quality one that is free from cracks. A broken o-ring could cause injury not only to yourself but also to others. The kit is made from PLA material.
