Fingerdigger

Fingerdigger

myminifactory

A desktop recreation of a popular sandbox toy. With fingers firmly grasping controls, you can meticulously search for fossils within potted plants, carefully excavate cigarette butts from overflowing ashtrays, or even transfer sake between delicate sakazuki cups. To ensure seamless assembly, apply a small drop of glue to the thin pegs, securing them safely inside the thicker pegs. This design draws inspiration from Sean H Kim's impressive work (grabcad.com/library/desk-digger-1), though his concept required adjustments for effortless printing in PLA. My objective, which I affectionately refer to as the "Two Bed Manifesto," is to craft articulated children's toys that print effortlessly on a single print bed without support. This vision enables me to initiate the printing process once before retiring to bed, waking up to discover a brand-new source of entertainment for the kids. Imagine their delight in discovering hidden fossils or cigarette butts in the morning!
