Finger Splint

Finger Splint

This is a finger splint (for trigger finger on my middle finger) that I designed for myself. My current job requires me to be pretty active with my hands, and I kept breaking splints or they were too uncomfortable to work with. This is extremely comfortable and keeps my finger in a slightly bent and resting position. It allows me to work, and use my other fingers, all day and has stood up for a week so I decided to post it for other people that may find themselves in a similar situation. To enhance the strength, I printed this at 45* on all axis (as shown in one of the pictures). I also cut a bit of medical tape, and wrapped it around the outside, to help it feel more comfortable against the other fingers. The current width for the proximal join (between your knuckles and first joint) is 42.5mm, and the width of my actual fingers is 37.85mm. So measure your fingers, multiply that number by x1.123, and adjust the print size accordingly. This was also designed for a right hand (the ring finger hole is slightly smaller than the middle finger hole) so if this is for your left hand be sure to inverse it).I hope this helps someone out there :)
