Finger splint for suture points
thingiverse
Hello to everybody! This thing is a custom-made finger splint for the middle finger. It was created to provide maximum protection after suturing wounds caused by accidents with sharp objects, such as knives. To ensure optimal performance, three different sizes were designed - one each for the first, second, and third phalanges. The 3D modeling process took place in Fusion 360, following a meticulous approach that involved taking precise measurements using millimeter paper to accurately capture the patient's finger shape. Additional design elements were incorporated using Thinkercad, focusing on enhancing grip security and ventilation through strategically placed holes. Three models are available for download - one featuring multiple sizes with an additional two layers of skirt lines for improved bed bonding, and another featuring single-size Voronoi vents. Feel free to adjust the splint size to fit your finger comfortably. Interestingly, wearing latex gloves underneath the splint can provide extra protection while also making it nearly invisible.
