Finger Clasp
thingiverse
This is a simple clasp for keeping a plywood door shut tight. You might be able to hold the lid on a box, but I think you'd need to create a new slider that comes down from above so it doesn't slide out. I call it a finger clasp because it looks like fingers holding onto the door. The part is a bit rough and ready - definitely not for high-end furniture. I use this part to keep my print cabinet door closed. You can't lock this clasp. The parts can be printed without any support and they're made entirely out of plastic. There's no metal in the hinges at all. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 ZRIB Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 30% Notes: There is support built into the hinge. It's fused by four fine radials between the moving parts, so you'll need to force the hinge after printing. Post-Printing Wear away the designed-in support. I put the screw tab in a vise and pulled on the finger until it gave way. The radials snapped off one by one as I pulled the finger back and forth several times. It sounded a bit like a fart, I guess. The parts are meant to be held on using #6 wood screws with countersunk heads.
