Finderscope Extender
thingiverse
I created this because I was running into issues with finding enough space between my telescope and finderscope when viewing straight up, making it difficult to position my eye properly. A little extra height makes a big difference. Also, since I'm into astrophotography and have a guidescope mounted on top of my main scope, which peeks through the gap between the focuser tube and the finderscope, adding a 15-degree tilt to the extender gives the guidescope more room to view. This design fits any standard finderscope and shoe, with slightly tapered holes that allow for self-tapping M4 screws to securely hold it in place. The exact configuration may only apply to my specific setup, so I've included a Sketchup file for you to adapt it to your own needs. Standard printing and infill settings work well, but you might want the print to be reasonably firm. There's a small bridge for the notch at the back, giving you the option to print support material or not.
With this file you will be able to print Finderscope Extender with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Finderscope Extender.
