Fimi X8 SE parabolic antenna booster

This is a custom-made parabolic antenna booster designed specifically for the FIMI X8 SE drone. To optimize performance, I carefully set the focal point directly into the center of the FIMI antenna's thickness. Using Openscad software to generate the design, I created a precise and functional model that ensures maximum signal reception. To achieve the best possible results, it is recommended to print this booster with skirts or rafts to prevent the thin sides from lifting up during the printing process. Update #4: To further enhance stability and maintain the antenna's position at the focal point, I added a top offset feature on October 1, 2019. This update ensures that the antenna remains securely in place. Update #3: In version 1.3 of this design, I extended the trough arms to their original length and adjusted the focal point to the center of the FIMI antenna. Additionally, I used sheet aluminum to create a smooth surface, which has proven to be highly effective in gathering energy from the Fimi signal. Update #2: To further refine the design, I shortened the parabolic arm length on September 28, 2019, resulting in improved performance and efficiency. Update #1: Initially, I tested the reflectors with a long-distance flight, which demonstrated impressive results. The booster enabled me to fly from 1.1 kilometers to an astonishing 2 kilometers while maintaining signal strength in an urban setting. Notes: For added stability and support, I extended the bottom of the parabola into a block to prevent the booster from falling backwards during use. In the photo, you'll notice that I cut out a piece of foam to keep the top of the antenna securely positioned at the focal point.
