<p>I designed a 3D printed exhaust port filter for industry RU standard Honeywell / North cartridge respirators. I have a RU6500 Full Facepiece Respirator that comes stock with N95 Pre-filters that snap over the cartridges. Early on in the pandemic, people disregarded these type of respirators because the exhale valve dumps your exhale breath unfiltered. I simply designed a 3D printable exhale filter with a taper that I can jam in the exhale port after completing a seal check (which requires covering the exhale port with your hand). This means that I am protected and others around me are protected.</p> <p>Note: The plastic webbing cover on the exhale port needs to be trimmed out with a exacto knife or snipped out with side cutters for this adapter to fit. You can see the result of the trimmed out webbing in the photo I posted with the cartridge removed.</p> <p>If you have a full or half mask respirator you could design and print a similar filter for your exhale valve. I believe, this filter adapter will also work with North Honeywell 2000, 3000, 5500, 7700, 8500, and 8800 series full and half mask respirators, they have exactly the same exhale check valve. It may be required to glue this exhale adapter onto these other respirators, the geometry surrounding the port is different.</p> <p>2020 July 7 Backing Cross part added.
