I used to own a Honeywell quietCare 17000, but its digital controls broke down. I wanted to adapt the HEPA filter to attach to a 6" squirrel cage blower fan I had on hand, so I could still use it to purify the air. This is a parametric bracket that allows you to mount a round filter to a squirrel cage fan. Please don't print this off without thinking - you'll probably need to adjust it to fit your fan and filter situation. You could also just buy the same HEPA filter, which is a good choice because it's easy to vacuum out and comes with a prefilter that keeps the regular filter clean for years. In theory, any round HEPA filter can be mounted to any squirrel cage fan using this bracket. I started making holes to fit the mount holes on the side of the fan, but it was easier just to print it without holes and drill them where they belonged. This should be a helpful head start for anyone trying to do the same thing. My goal is to create a negative pressure room in case I need to isolate family members during the coronavirus pandemic. I want to make sure their aerosolized virus doesn't spread to other rooms. This high-volume air filter can also be used for that purpose. I scavenged a threaded insert from the top of this bracket to hold the filter lid on. You could adjust it to have threads printed directly into the model if you prefer, but I had a heat gun and just melted the original Honeywell casing to get the insert out, so I pressed it in and it fit very nicely.
