Filter Media Tray

I required additional media trays for the lid filter, which is situated in the lid's rear section. I was not satisfied with the 4-foot long coarse sponge that came with it, as it was a hassle to remove and caused water spills everywhere. I wanted the trays to be multi-functional so they could be used separately or together as a single unit without having to turn off the power head. This way, multiple medias can be safely utilized, such as fine and coarse sponges, filter bio balls, ceramic tubes, and activated carbon. The possibilities are endless. The trays are designed to be loose in their position, allowing water to flow past them if they become clogged. I also wanted a fail-safe tray exit end in case all the trays get clogged up, ensuring that water can still flow freely without overflowing and causing damage to the tank or surrounding area. Measurements for the fail-safe tray are 45 mm high, 205 mm long, and 80 mm wide. The normal tray measures 45 mm high, 200 mm long, and 80 mm wide. These trays are made from PLA+, which I researched with several manufacturers to ensure its safety and non-toxic properties. I will update the material if a better one becomes available. A picture of the spray bar is shown with the second tray, as I had not created the fail-safe tray yet when I published this post. If you need trays of different lengths, please message me. No supports were needed during printing because PLA+ can bridge gaps more effectively than regular PLA. I will be writing an article about these trays on my website and blog at 3dprintopinions.com.
