So this is my first project. I spent a week building the prototype, and discovered that you can still buy N95 (R95 and P95) compliant respirator prefilters in style 5P71 online, even though they're not commonly used. I decided not to wear my paint respirator and built a mask adapter for them instead. This adapter consists of six parts: five made of plastic and one made of TPU. They screw together using short M2 screws, but I'm planning to create a snap version in the future. I used snorkel valves as an exhaust valve, which could probably be printed if needed. The adapter has two plastic rings that hold the TPU mask in place using epoxy, and 1/2" elastic webbing keeps it secure on your face.
